Keys to a Summer Hike

Janelle (a Montessori teacher) and two of her boys, Luke and Christian, share practical and intangible tips your family should consider on your upcoming summer hikes.



Practical items:

  • Snacks

  • Map

  • Backpack

  • Nature journal

Intangibles:

  • Activate your five Senses!

  • Be courteous of nature (throw away trash, keep a safe distance from other hikers, respect the natural habitat)

  • Curiosity (bring a nature journal to write or draw what you see)
